Business performance analytics (preview) new functionality for D365 Finance and Supply chain
Business performance analytics is currently supported in the following regions: Australia, UK, USA, Europe, Canada, and Japan. It will be open for all other regions at GA which is in Feb 2024.
Reviewing the functionalities, this application can really help to inform business KPIs for business decision making which will include machine learning and AI in the next versions. Here I attach one of Microsoft’s Finance Reimagined series on BPA.
An important feature about the application:
Developed by Dataverse, Business performance analytics includes a web-based hub that allows end users to create and share reports through familiar tools such as Excel and Power BI. With Business performance analytics, users gain secure, near real-time access to critical financial information, allowing non-technical users to easily access and analyze data. With better visibility into valuable financial data, finance teams can make informed decisions and streamline financial reporting to free up time to focus on high-value initiatives.
In this article I will tell you about the new feature that is in preview and tell you how to install the application.
For testing, I have installed it in a UAT environment updated with the version 10.0.36 application release. For the previous configuration, you must follow the indications of the microsoft documentation.
The first step is to have your finance and operations environment connected to the power platform by following the documentation below:
Enable Power Platform Integration — Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn
2. Configure the Azure AD tenant
4. Set up required configurations in D365 Finance
In the case of the configuration in dynamics FO, check if the sql row version change tracking license configuration is active.
If it is not active, the environment must be left in maintenance mode and the change must be made.
When we want to modify the licence we will be asked the following question:
Save changes.
5. Setup required configurations in Power Platform Admin Center
The next step is to install the finance and operations virtual entity application.
Access directly from finance and operations.
By clicking on the app, it automatically sends to the app source to get the application.
In the next post I will show you how it works with real examples¡
I hope you find it helpful¡¡ 😊😊🙌
